A small number are also found in other Provences like Sind and Baluchistan. There is also historical presence of the Ranjha tribe in Baluchistan and Sindh specifically Ranjhapur (a small town in balochistan Pakistan).History & Origin:Their traditions tells that they are the descendants of the Jats from Eastern Punjab. However tracing further back the Ranjha tribe is also found in Sindh and Balochistan prior to the migration to the more fertile lands of Punjab. Ranjhapur is such a town in Balochistan. The tradition has it that ancestor of the tribe Sultan Mohammad, who was an Arab and a close companion as well as a brave commander in the troop of Muhammad Bin Qasim during the Ummyyad Caliphate in 710CE. When Muhammad bin Qasim Al-Thaqafi attacked Sindh who was sent by Hajjaj ibn Yusuf Governer in Syria during the Ummyyad Caliphate. When Mohammad Bin Qasim was called back Sultan Mohammad stayed in Sindh. He got married here and spent his remaining life in Sindh. He is main root of Ranjha Tribe and then his further race spread in Sindh as well as other provinces. Sultan Mohammad belongs to Quresh tribe and his forfathers are prominet persons during origin of Islam were Ikrma Bin Umar (Well known Ikrama Bin Abo Jhal) one of the companion of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) who become shaheed during war to conquer Syria.
